Kara's journey in the hair industry began with her first adventure dyeing her hair blonde at age 11 before attending a Britney Spears concert. Fueled by a love for fashion and self-expression, Kara started hair modeling at 16, which solidified her desire for a career in the industry. By 19, she enrolled in hair school, and by 23, she was working at an Aveda salon, refining her skills as a color assistant and mastering the art of foiling, highlighting, and bob haircuts. Kara has always drawn inspiration from the vibrant energy of New York City, which led her to pursue an education at Bumble and bumble (Bb) University while working at Twisted salon in Louisville. There, she discovered the art of cutting with a straight razor and her love for high-quality haircare brands like Randco and Oribe. After 12 successful years in the salon industry, Kara ventured out to become an independent stylist. She remains dedicated to continuous education and evolving her craft, especially in straight razor techniques. Known for her keen sense of fashion and personal style, Kara loves collaborating with clients to create their best looks, believing that hair, much like fashion, is always changing. She says, “I never stop growing, traveling for inspiration, or educating myself. Hair is always changing, just like fashion, and that’s why I chose it.”
